Biography

Since childhood, art, aesthetics, and design have been my passions, leading me to study Fine Art and Art History in college. This journey eventually introduced me to NFTs and digital ownership through Beeple and my cousin, who had a CryptoPunk, and ultimately the Bored Ape Yacht Club, where I minted Ape 148 in the pre-sale. Joining the club in 2021 reignited my passion for creating purely for joy. I began crafting digital hoodies, BAYC artwork, and posters, and collaborating with other Apes. This renewed creative spark has brought fresh excitement to my artistic journey, blending traditional and digital media in new and unexpected ways.

and vision

BMW has a rich history of merging art, culture, and speed through its longstanding Art Car series. While this is an ApeCar rather than a true Art Car, I still can't shake the surreal feeling of being in the company of legendary artists like Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, and all of the other incredible artists who have been invited to design a BMW over the decades. Those twenty iconic cars are a huge source of inspiration for my concept. In approaching this project, I aimed to create a cohesive Bored Ape experience with the car that goes beyond simply applying a bunch of apes to its surface. My goal was to craft something iconic and bold, immediately recognizable without overtly featuring our favorite PNGs.

One of my favorite aspects of BAYC is Curtis. He was there on the dock with a line out waiting for us from day one, and yet he himself doesn’t actually exist on the blockchain. He’s fascinating. He’s our shepherd throughout Otherside, club lore, and globally with ApeFest. To me, he is more iconic than the skull logo. Curtis is our Mickey Mouse, and my muse for this project.

Some final sources of inspiration came from cars in popular culture. From the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile and the Mutt Cutts van from Dumb & Dumber to Keaton’s Batmobile and the ECTO-1 from Ghostbusters, these vehicles are all iconic. This got me thinking about the Mutant Mudder and how a Bored Ape companion car could be designed to match its unique character in a more refined way (that smells much better).
